Happens ever year. Decorating my tree it never fails that I drop or the ornament falls off the branch. So far I have broken three bulbs. How many have you broken? No, I don't want plastic decorations.

I manage to break a few here and there.
What upset me much more was that our young Husky chewed one up years ago. It was one of those Hallmark Ornaments where you put your kid's school photo in it and write a few details about his life on the back. I had left it on the coffee table for some reason. She got ahold of it and chewed it to pieces. I saved it all, of course, because I am, well, me. I was looking for a replacement on EBay and could never find one. I still have it here in my office, not sure what to do with it as I can't throw it out.

I usually end up dropping and breaking at least one ball ornament, depends on the year really, LOL!
We have so many special ones, I would feel so bad if I broke any of those........we used to put all the cloth and plastic ones on the bottom of the tree when we had our last kitty.
Technically he broke less than I have!

Don't laugh, but we never took down the tree in the playroom: Our pets like to take naps under it. As far as broken bulbs: So far, no casualties.

In my old home, I dropped and broke one per year, usually when taking the ornaments down and letting them slip out my fingers to crack on the chatahoochee ---a river rock flooring popular for outside patios in the 1960s when my Fl house was built. When you have a cat, the tree is safer outside. Years ago I had a rescue cat, Jay Gatsby, who insisted on being the king of the mountain--he would climb to the top of the tree, looking triumphant. So the trees got moved outside to the patio, and Jay could admire them thru the glass slider.
As I am still renting and house hunting after moving to New England, my mom's and other family ornaments are probably safe ths year.

I don't usually break any ornaments. I do have some really old cheap ornaments that came from TG&Y, K-Mart years ago when we first got married.
They get broke because they are in a tub with dividers but not wrapped up.
I keep all my other ornaments in the boxes they came in. I open all of them so I can put the ornaments all over the couch. I can see which I want to hang where. I would be upset if I broke any of those.
I have some from Hallmark, Radko, Avon, Lenox, Precious Moments, a few nice pieces I bought on Amazon from Ukraine etc.
I also have some really neat different homemade ornaments that I like.

Get a big tree and just cover it up with lights. Solves the problem of decorating--because you don't need them! ![]()

I have broken at least four this year, two of them old but dearly loved ornaments for sentimental reasons.
I need to be more careful...![]()
