I have a dozen roses here and no plans for tomorrow due to the weather. We are having a home cooked meal. I got DH a card but he couldn't get out for a card for me. I don't mind-- we are together.

Re: How Many Have Had Their Valentine's Day Spoiled?

After all these years of being married, Valentines Day is no big deal. When I was young and dating, it was a very big deal. A nice meal at home, flowers, and a card and we are good to go. We do give our children cards with cash, this year since we have been stuck in the house for the last 4 days with the snow, everything will have to wait.

Forty-three years ago today was my bridal shower. The same guy who shared all the wonderful gifts with me that I received at that shower is cleaning my car off right now. Nothing special planned after all these years. No need to. We just sit and look back at all the wonderful (and maybe some not so wonderful) memories of those many years.

I love your response!

I just realized if my parents were still alive, and hadn't separated, today would be their 70th wedding anniversary. They were both in their teens when they married....

Re: How Many Have Had Their Valentine's Day Spoiled?

7ish years ago my DH and I went out to dinner (it was a big deal because DS was little and we rarely went out). The restaurant was crowded and overbooked. The waiters were scrambling and doing their best to serve the tables. The guy at the table next to us was yelling and carrying on...and another patron told him to be cool.....drama ensued. Our reservation was for 8:30 and we finally ate at 9:30. We had to scramble to pick up DS from daycare....what a disaster. We decided after that not to go out on valentinie's day again. I felt really sorry for the woman of the P.O.'d guy....
