Re: How Long Can You Talk On The Phone?

@minkbunny   I either call her on her cell or wait for "Windy" to get off the phone.

My sister says he doesn't talk to her for 2 or 3 hours all together during the day.

Until my battery dies. And even then I sometimes keep talking, sitting on the floor tethered to my plugged in charger. I get completely lost in conversations and lose track of time. Absolutely love it.

Re: How Long Can You Talk On The Phone?

No long phone conversations for me! I hate it! I talk to a few friends occasionally, but that's no more than 20 to 30 minutes and that's plenty for me. When my out of state mother was still alive, I called her daily and we chatted for around 15 minutes. Our families seem to prefer texting, so we've adopted that instead. I think hearing a person's voice is better, but I don't want to be in a long phone conversation.

I don't talk on the phone as much as I used to. I have a few friends who I do talk to for a while. I like fast texts better, get to the point and forget all the blah blah blah!!

Re: How Long Can You Talk On The Phone?

Lord girl!! Yes, I use to do those marathon calls. Even got a long cord so I could get to the bathroom!!  Every night around 6 I call my sister or she would call me we would talk some times to 11-12. The next morning around 9 we were right back on it. This was years ago. She passed in 2005 and I've never regretted those calls. We were so close. The hubby never mind - he was always watching a western and my daughter loved to read. Occasionally one of them would go into the kitchen where I was and say - that phone line is about to burn into!! Smiley LOL  This was way before the cell phone came along. Now I very seldom talk unless it's a business call or from my daughter.

I sent this message from the last living brain cell I have.

Many years as a switchboard operator gave me my fill of telephone conversations! I'm not one of those people who needs to hear a voice.

@RedTop ...My first job after graduating high school was with the New York Telephone Company as an operator.  The pay was very good for someone that young.  Thank goodness it didn't deter me from talking on the phone since my dearest friend was one who talked at length as well as another friend I had.  I have no one to talk to anymore and would give anything to have them back but maybe they met one another up above and are talking a blue streak to one another.  Woman LOL

Re: How Long Can You Talk On The Phone?

My dear friend of 45 years is quite a talker!  We now live in different states and we usually talk, or shall I say she usually talks, at least once a week.  Unfortunately I sometimes dread seeing her name come up because I know it will be hours.  I never get a word in.  She has no idea how I am doing or what is going on in my life.  Boring talk about people I don't know, her health, on and on about pointless subjects I could care less about.  I cannot get off the phone even when I tell her I have to go, she says just one more thing.  It's painful.  Yesterday she left me a message that was 25 minutes long!

Re: How Long Can You Talk On The Phone?

If someone I know cannot text then it's goodbye, got to go after 5 minutes sometimes less.  Am more than happy to email but some are just too lazy to do that and it's easier to gab on the phone.  Not into that.
