Unfortunately there is a member of my close family who is a bully. She yells, screams, sends hateful emails, curses, name-calls, and engages in the silent treatment when she doesn't get her way. Our family is at wits' end. However, her teenage children are very dear to us all. We are in the process of deciding whether it is worth all the verbal vitriol to visit her for Christmas. Most of us will have to travel by plane to get there and we are undecided about whether it is worth the attacks and the hurt. Does anyone have experiences with people like this in your family? What have you done? What works and what is to be avoided?
