How Do You Pronounce The Word Tomato?

OR

 

 

To-MAY-toe?

 

 

I say To-MAY-toe.  I grew up in the PNW so maybe how you pronounce it is from where you grow up?

East Coast here and I pronounce it the same way as you.  I don't think I've ever heard anyone pronounce it the first way.

Like Will Smith, I'm West Philadelphia born and raised.  I pronounce the word Tomato as tuh-May-toe.

I was born and raised in So Ca and have always pronounced it Toe-MAY-toe, but my Mother was from England and although her accent diminished over the years she pronounced it Toe-MAH-toe.....
