Hosts ordering products while on the air...

I'm sure the hosts get to see the products they are presenting ahead of time. Wouldn't it make sense for them to do "their personal shopping" beforehand instead of while on the air? What is the point of shouting out for production to save them one of this or that in a certain size, while on the air?

Of course they would. Just another sales technique, I'm sure. As often as they use it, it's probably a very effective one.

To start the stampede!

It's just a sales technique...and they do it because it works.

ITA - I'm sure that kind of thing works well on a lot of people - not only is the host buying the product (they think), but they also are made to feel that if they don't hurry and buy it themselves they will run out of them.

It's kind of too bad that QVC is like the others now. It's just become a big ol' con job. They used to have a lot more class.

I doubt whether Lisa ever wears anything from the Q in her civilian life...

But Joan Rivers, who truly IS a multi-millionaire and hobnobs with British royalty, does wear her outfits on her other shows, stand up gigs and real life.

I think half the time it is a sell tactic.

I always feel bad for the vendor. I think it was a fashion day where every hour has a different brand. The first hour the host asked for a number of things to be ordered for her. Next hour, different vendor and not one shout out for an order.
