@Stray.  If this nail art we see is expensive, my guess is Vanessa Herring must spend a good part of her income (and time) engaging in it.  I do find it very distracting.

It'll be interesting to see how she feels about it when she has her baby.

@Kachina624  My nails were really long when I had my first child. I was worried about cat scratch fever, so I kept them pristine and never put my fingers in my mouth. The first time I "stabbed" him, I clipped my nails right down to the finger and kept them that way for many months. Hahaha!

@PA Mom-mom.  That's what I'm thinking might happen with Vanessa.

Vanessa probably does spend a lot but it’s her business & her choice. I don’t think an employer would tell an employee they can’t do nail art in today’s environment unless it’s a health hazard.

I’m sure she’ll be cropping her nails & have less intricate designs after her baby.

There are strict rules regarding nail art if you are working in the medical field.

@ALRATIBA.  Like this, for example?

They are so concerned about hair, makeup and fashion.......why not nails!

There is a host that has nail polish that is sparkly, grown out and "lumpy". She is off for several days so I'm thinking she will redo her nails. Three days later here she is with the same lumpy polish that is grown out.

@lgfan - yes, I’m a retired nurse but I’ve been hospitalized recently & saw nails brighter & longer than I’d like to see. I worked in Obstetrics the first 20 yrs of my career & wore my nails short & neutral which is why I love getting a manicure every two weeks now

I understand that the nails can be seen as distracting. However that is the current trend right now and I’m talking about the last 20 years, so maybe they think they are on trend and perhaps done on purpose to keep people focused on the product. But keep in mind what someone’s idea of neutral or toned down but still not gather support as being seen as “boring or not a pretty/flattering color “.

While nail art may be distracting to people who claim to watch very little QVC anyway, it may be an attention grabber for a different audience that QVC hopes to grow. People like to buy from people with whom they can identify.
