Hosts have to be models now......

Lisa Roberts started the trying everything on and modeling it.  I have watched 30+ years and the hosts used to just be hosts.  The hosts dressed nicely with flattering clothing and hair and makeup.  Now they have to try everything on and model it.  I love Carolyn but I have to admit some of the stuff she wears makes me not buy it because before I lost weight I was about her size just shaped a little differently.  The way she wears it is not flattering to the product.  Maybe her stylist should have been fired instead of her.  That silly high energy non stop talking over the vendors etc.  drives me crazy but they definitely want high energy hosts that act silly and prance around.  I wonder it Mary Beth is next.  She is up there in host age but she still looks good in her clothes.

I don't mind when the hosts try things on...in fact I like it.

NONE of the models are even close to my body type/size....but a few of the hosts are.

I don't think we need to claim ageism, sexism, racism every time changes in personnel are made.

If you remember the last time many hosts were let go, Several of them were YOUNG.

We don't know the details....

@chiclet   Yikes.  The head stylist was indeed one of the 400 that got laid off.  I don't wish anyone to lose their job.

[ Edited ]

I've had chiclet's thought that female hosts are now having to double as models.  This is another cost-saving measure, but now there is a burden on the hosts of having to be model-like in appearance.  Perhaps not in the same league as high-end models, but they must be fit and trim.

Must add this, however:  QVC now hires many models who represent the heavier ladies in the buying world.

Perhaps QVC needs the hosts to be ready and able to act as models when necessary.

Well, Carolyn is gone now, so you can rest easy.

I don't mind when hosts model clothes but lord wear clothes that fit you properly. Let's face it. Amy and courtney can wear anything and look good.. Other's squeeze into clothing that is way too small just to say they are an xx small. They would look better in a larger size. Please note hosts. Blazers are not suppose to pull. Tops are not suppose to cling and trousers are not suppose to look like jeggings.

@JackieHN   I don't think any hosts are squeezing into clothing that is too small just to say they wear an xxs.

I am sure that QVC does not have their correct size on set. They  have to wear what is physically available to them.

And I don't think Amy looks great in everything.  Sometimes she looks like a kid trying on her mother's clothing because it is too big and overwhelms her while proclaiming that the clothing will fit petite body types....NOT.

I have also seen hosts modeling shoes that were too big.  Sometimes you just have to make-do with what's on hand.

@Kweenme

Carolyn is no longer with QVC?  I didn't realize that.

Disagree. I heard one host say well this is an xs whch is not my size. I always take an xxs. Well honey the xs fit you perfectly. Now Susan Graver knows how to wear her clothes.

Leah always finds a size that fits her whether she goes up or down in size. Have you ever seen jane in a small top that she is always pulling down. She's a medium for sure.

Some of the hosts think we are idiots. We can see what fits you and what doesn't.

I loved Carolyn.  She was one of the few I would watch.  I just meant to say that she needed to just wear flattering clothes and not model some of the stuff that she had to sell that was not flattering for her.  My Qvc shopping is mostly online and I just punch in what I am looking for and if curious I watch the video.  It seems every time I decide to look at QVC, there is a food show on.
