I found out she loves wind chimes and is a cat lover.  A couple of months ago at a feed & seed store I saw so many cute cat-themed chimes.  I'm going for it, ladies!

Re: Hostess Gift for Son's Future MIL

I have been married for 43 years, but I inherited the hostess gift my mother

received from my future mother-in-law.  This hostess gift was also gifted on

Thanksgiving, a month before our wedding.

The gift was a beautiful, Lenox cookie plate with a fleur de lis center handle.

It is gold trimmed and made in the USA, not the same Lenox quality now

sold on the Q from China.

I use this cookie plate every holiday season, and it is just beautiful.  I plan

to give this eventually to one of my lovely daughter-in-laws, so it is definitely

a heirloom piece.

My mother-in-law was an incredible baker, so she gifted something beautiful

that she would have appreciated herself.

I am appreciative of her good taste and generousity and that this is still a gift

of beauty after all these years.
