Whenever we are alongside a semi, I think about those remnants of tires strewn along the road when they have a blowout. I just want to get past those big rigs.

I live in an area with several interstates.

When learning to drive I was always cautioned to not drive beside a big rig if at all possible.   In a sedan, those tires are right at your head, a blowout could kill you.

And I hate driving over those remnants.   Or being behind someone who drives over one.  It can break out your windshield.    We call them asphalt alligators.

Re: Horrible Wreck

[ Edited ]

As a footnote.....in the end there were 8 fatalities including the bus driver but not the semi driver.  There were several children but they're all okay.  They are now trying to identify the deceased.  There are 3 people still in critical condition.

After the tire blew out, the truck jacknifed and plowed across the highway and hit the bus head-on.

Two lawsuits have already been filed.
