I've heard people talk about it, but never tasted horehound cough candy myself. I thought it was a thing of the past, not made any more.
This week I saw some for the first time, in Michael's (the craft store), of all places. I had to buy it, so I could find out what it tastes like.
I was expecting something really strong, and maybe aniseed.
I was disappointed, sort of. It was really mild and ever so slightly buttery.
But at least it wasn't a waste of $1.76. DH gets a lot of sore throats and is always looking round the house for cough candy, so it'll get used up.
