I saw on TMZ yesterday that the police got involved and did a wellness check. Bet that spurred the process on.

I've been alarmed that she's been "kept" against her will since this entire episode began. It's almost like the plot in a movie, but it's happening to her.
I've heard her telephone interviews and she seemed exceptionally alert, intelligent, well oriented, aware and cogent.
Frightening that this could happen. Many of us likely fear that this could be us when someone can take advantage.

Good for her - you go girl.

Her life has coincidentally become the type of story she would have relished reporting on.
My feelings are that she's always had insecurities and her divorce cut her to her core. She then surrounded herself with people who may not have had her best interest and took advantage of her...and her money.
Wishing her the best for finding emotional, physical, and mental strength and healing.

From what I understand it was her drug/alcohol abuse that caused her to 'lose her mind' and end up in that place. But after sobering up, her mind came back and that's a good thing.

@SilleeMee That's what I understand too. She is sober now and has lots of coherent conversations with people. She doesn't looked buggy-eyed anymore, like so many photos showed her.
There is a TMZ documentary about her and it shows her having hours and hours of conversations with Harvey Levin, wherein she is totally lucid. Think it is on Tubi; could be other places too.
Scary how one can go in for help or have a guardianship or some other form of having your control taken away from you for a while because of a need, and then not be able to take back control of your life because others keep you locked up.

"Wendy Williams Removed from Assisted Living Facility by NYPD, Taken to Hospital in Ambulance"
"The New York Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that Williams was transported to the hospital after they conducted a wellness check on Monday, March 10
Wendy Williams was unexpectedly taken to the hospital amid her pleas for help.
Authorities responded to Williams’ assisted living facility for a welfare check on Monday, March 10, a spokesperson for the New York Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE. She was then escorted out of the building, and EMS transported her in an ambulance to a local hospital “for evaluation.”
According to reporting from The New York Post, the 60-year-old former talk show host dropped a note out of her window earlier that morning. It allegedly read: “Help! Wendy!!”
Williams has been living under a legal guardianship that oversees both her finances and health since May 2022. In recent months, she has been in an ongoing legal battle to end her conservatorship with her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, who claims Williams is "cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incapacitated.”
"I am not cognitively impaired but I feel like I am in prison," Williams said on The Breakfast Club in January. "I’m in this place with people who are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s. .... These people, there's something wrong with these people here on this floor. I am clearly not."
She added that elevators in the facility — which she called a "prison" — are locked and visitors are restricted, and she is unable to come and go as she pleases. She also alleged that she is unaware of what medications the facility is administering to her.
Hours after her appearance on the radio show, Morrissey requested a “new medical evaluation," per a court filing obtained by PEOPLE.
She also revealed in a TubiTV documentary called TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy Williams, which was released in February, that she couldn’t remember the last time she was seen by a medical professional after her 2023 dementia diagnosis.
“[It has been] a long while,” Williams said, insisting that she “couldn’t” even estimate a general time frame.
“I was in Connecticut for a year and I didn't go see anybody. I've been in here for six or seven months and I haven't seen anybody,” she claimed
That same month, Williams offered an update on her status during a segment on NewsNation’s Banfield.
“Well, I don't have the freedom to do virtually anything," she said. "As far as where I am, I'm on the fifth floor. They call it ‘the memory unit,’ so it's for people who don't remember anything."
"I've met the people who live here and I've been here for almost a year now, and this is very suffocating," she continued.

"Wendy Williams Taken To Hospital After Dropping Troubling Note Outside Of Assisted Living Facility"
"Wendy Williams has been escorted to a hospital after the media maven dropped a note out of the window of the assisted living facility where she currently resides."
PageSix reports that the former talk show host dropped a note out of her window Monday (March 10) down to a paparazzo, requesting their assistance. The message simply read, “HELP! WENDY!!” Police reportedly performed a wellness check in response to the fallen message, with TMZ reporting that she was then taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. Footage shows Williams exiting her building with police escorts, who lead her to an ambulance she gets into on her own, followed by footage of them heading to the Upper East Side hospital. The purpose of the visit is to conduct, “an independent examination as to whether her cognitive functions are sufficiently intact to end her guardianship.”
Williams has previously compared residing in the assisted living facility to “prison.”
“I am not cognitively impaired. But I feel like I am in prison,” Williams detailed to DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and guest host Loren LoRosa on The Breakfast Club. “I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s and their 70s. There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.”
Reports of the incident come just hours after New York authorities launched two separate investigations into Williams’ guardianship, including with the NYPD and Adult Protective Services, TMZ also reported.
Wendy Williams has been fighting to end her guardianship for months, firing her court-appointed lawyer in January and inquiring about the services of A$AP Rocky’s trial attorney, Joe Tacopina. In February, Williams signed an affidavit requesting the guardianship be terminated, adding that she had “regained capacity” to function without her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.
