You should ask, @dex!
You can even buy theme park tickets at the HEB stores. I don't think the Safeways I went to in California had that many options.
Here's a link to a list of things you can do at the HEB service center: https://www.heb.com/static-page/business-center-services

She gave him the $1900 or he gave it to her?
If she gave it to him it was probably Western Union or some other $ transfer service.

Something was in the manila sealed envelope. I thought it was some type of coupon redemption. He rang up 1900 dollars on his register to give to her. I was flabbergasted. Now I see after reading these responses it could be something other than extreme couponing.

@bri20 wrote:Maybe she was buying for a school or some other institution. When we had events at school and would purchase items from retail, we had to show them a tax exempt form to prove that it wasn't a private purchase.
That sounds exactly like what it was to me! I've had to do that before. If you have a tax exempt number it is a real mess! It's such a procedure that I've been known to pay the tax out on my own pocket as a "donation"! Also, if it's a purchase order for things for a church or community program (like food for a food booth at a fair) the items are pre-ordered, a check is cut for the exact amount of the order, minus tax(!) ) and is usually processed at CS!

Yes, @SharkE especially at a busy counter in a big store supermarket. I pay attention now who what or who is around me. Especially someone carrying almost two grand in a crowded place. Don't want to be around that person walking out of the store. In today's day in age, I feel it is always wise to be aware. Besides, I want to get in on the couponing if that is what it was. Doesn't appear to be though. ![]()

I get my vehicle registration ("tags") at my local grocery store.
Have you done that?
Easy, Peasy.
