Next week he will be starting a new drug after reviewing the side effects with his cancer Dr. It has been on the market for a few years as an experimental drug but has finally been approved by the FDA. It isn't on the medicare list of drugs but may be added in the next few months. It will cost $5000.00 a month but our Kaiser plan will bring it down to $2500 a month which is still pricey but will extend my husbands life expectancy by a few years. He won't do it if the side effects are bad, but will try it for a month or so to see. It is called Zytiga (sp) I am grateful that even though financially money will be tight that our business can afford it, but feel bad for those who can't.
