I have looked at several homes online with kids pictures clearly visible. On top of that the kids rooms have their name on the wall, either stenciled or painted.
In the info provided for the property is the name of the school district.
So you have a pic of the house, the exact address, pics of kids, their name in some cases, their school ec. A road map to kids.
Maybe I'm just old but there are too many crazies around. I wouldn't have anyhing personal around.

Life is too short for me to worry about the perverts who may come to see my house for sale with their agent; especially as I will be moving away (which is why my house is up for sale).
I can also say that I could not tell you the name of or what anyone looked like after looking at houses on the market. It is THE last thing I'm paying attention to.
Last, a good agent can take measures to blur out ALL facial images for online pictures. Yep, they can. And, you can inform the agent that no names be visible in online photos. So, if the homeowners REALLY care, they can take specific action.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I've never liked the idea of posting kids' photos online for public access.
It's one thing to post them on FB with restricted access but for the public, no way.
When all of my grands were born my DS and DIL firmly told their families in no uncertain terms that they would never allow the kids' photos to be posted. And if someone did, there would be consequences. Everyone respected that and I was glad they took that stand.

@Love my grandkids Same with our children. We take it a step further: no SCHOOL photos or SPORT photos allowed in any publication including yearbooks. We have our reasons.

My sister was looking at SOLD homes in my area ( we live 400 miles apart) and for the heck of it, she looked at my Mom's home which had sold after she passed away ( I was the executor and sold it in six months).
My sister called and told me that our MOTHER is in one of the online pictures of the home that is still online from when it sold....she is sweeping the front sidewalk, in her little blue sweater and her gray hair blowing in a halo around her head.....
She was tiny and loved to keep things up around her home....she lived in her home until one week before she died at 95.
It was touching to see such a familar scene in front of her little house. I stopped there every day to visit and do chores and things ( She didn't drive any longer, but otherwise was sharp as a tack mentally, right to the end....).
She is still on that picture, perpetually sweeing the sidewalk. She died in 2015.
I think some of the photos used are from when they do the photos for Street View of homes in Google Earth.
My own home in the same town? The day the Google Earthers photoed my home for street view, I was having a new blacktop driveway installed. This was YEARS ago and today that crew is still seen working on my new driveway.
Crazy.
On the subject of kids pictures online? I would NOT allow that. YOU may not care, but it's astounding who's on the Sex Offender registry in towns....ALL of them are online. Here in PA, very easy to see who the criminal perverts are, and just how MANY are in YOUR nieghborhood.
Called the Megan's Law website here in PA, and in about 10 minutes you can see who they are in YOUR town. Shocking in a small town, to say the least.
Anyone out there who meets someone new online ( or even in person) ALWAYS check that website before you "Fall in Wuv) or make a fool of yourself in front of people who DO know about the site...and get this....there are WOMEN on it too.!!!

@Othereeeen As well as ANYONE under the age of 18!

Twice now I have identified the owners of homes for sale based on visible family pictures.
Both homes were many, many miles away; I had never been to either location or seen photos of the houses before.

Remember the old days when they had stickers placed on the windows for firemen in case of a house fire. Tot finder. Yikes !

All those personal pictures online real estate sites really surprises me. We were always told to eliminate anything personalizing house as that's a negative in buyers eyes. That even goes for figurines and other collectibles.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 What you don't mention is that one doesn't have to visit the house to see all this personal stuff. Photos clearly document it on real estate websites like Realtor.Com. A person up to no good can merely peruse the web to see it all and make note of the address.
