I got these recently and am still learning how they work but I was able to use my phone from another location to get a live view.  One camera has a wifi issue but it will be replaced.  If you have an issue with any camera, check the settings to see if the wifi is low.  I'm still figuring out where I want to place these and how to avoid constant alerts.  They worked perfectly when I had packages delivered.  I wonder how long the batteries will last though.  I'm not totally thrilled with the night view but I haven't set these up permanently yet.  They work perfectly indoors.  Caught the dog on the couch.

Hi @Snoopp did you get the Blink or another brand?

I want to set up 1 of the cameras as a puppy cam Smiley LOL

You just need to have a network, so you are probably fine in that regard.

Beyond that, I absolutely ABHOR these Blink cameras!   BTW, in one of the recent presentations here they lied a few times about them.   I heard the rep say that you can load them on your computer to watch.  You cannot and there are complaints all over the internet about that.

When you leave your house you cannot monitor them.   Your phone has to be accessing your home network (and they are not all compatible) in order to see what the cameras pick up.   Fortunately, we have a dual router, so we could use the part that works for this Blink system...such as it is.

Furthermore, they don't always work.   More often than not anybody can walk through the range and the camera does not pick anything up.

I wish my husband had not purchased these.    When you are trying to delete the videos on your phone, often you have to delete the same ones over and over.    Some might show up later to be deleted again.  (you can tell because the time is showing)

There are other brands of systems that, from all I've heard, are like 100% better.   My husband is a very emotional thinker, so he's not one to research something before buying.    He's probably QVC's target audience (glad he doesn't watch much!), as they can convince him that he should buy something.

@chickenbutt  That sentence about your husband (above) cracked me up...very funny about him being "Q's target audience".

We had a local company install a security system in our house a number of years ago. At that time, we also bought infared cameras and they are mounted in various places on the outside of our house.

DH and I can both view our house on our phone via the app.  However, we do not and cannot get alerts if someone comes to our door, etc.  We would have to just happen to check the app and see someone or check the camera footage at a later time if something happens.

I would like to get something that actually alerts us.

You can go on youtube and search Blink vs. Arlo, for example, or Arlo Pro vs. Arlo.  It shows videos from both so you can see which you like better; also people explaining.   Very good info.

@Mj12  I bought the tsv Blink XT.  I ordered a second set cause I thought these might be good for some indoor areas too.  It should work great for a puppy cam.  I caught my dog when he was downstairs and I was upstairs so I could tell him to get off the couch.  He was probably wondering how I knew.😆
