Just got home from doing my grocery shopping.

A 6 Pack of Coke Zero (16.9 oz. Bottles), which were $6.19 last week, were $6.99 today. 80 cent increase in one week, if not less than 1 week.  I can't remember when I went last week.

I love Coke Zero Cherry, so I paid it.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Yes, prices have definitely gone up although I was able to get 24 cans of Miller Light beer for $15 last week--LOL!!

I read an article in the past week that said soft drink prices were rising faster than any other category in the supermarket.

I suppose high prices will deter some consumers, but that's not a bad thing.  I don't buy soft drinks myself.

I buy the 2 litre bottles and one of the supermarkets near me would run every other week a deal on Coke 2 liter products  5 for $5!  That is the best deal ever!!

Lat week the deal was modified to 4 for $5.  Still not bad, but a 20% increase nonetheless.  I find that storing and carrying the 2 litre bottles is much easier than multiple cans or smaller bottle sizes and it is way more economical at the register!

@ValuSkr - I don't smoke, I don't drink and in an effort (working so far) to lose weight, I've given up ice cream and salty crackers.  Coke Zero Cherry is something I enjoy, so I'm going to go down with the ship with it, LOL.

DH loves Pepsi Zero. So I wait until the 12 pack of cans are on sale. And buy four cases for $12.99.

I gave up soda back in 1997 and I only allow myself one cup of coffee a day.  But that one cup is looking more like tea everyday.

The price of my diet root beer has increased dramatically in the past few weeks.  Like, @gidgetgh, it's my only vice other than a square or two of chocolate so I will continue to purchase.
