I cant for the life of me understand why so much focus is on holiday stress lately, and why people let themselves get stressed. Make lists, shop early for gifts and food. Learn to relax for heavens sake.

I thought of this because I talked to my brother. His wife is a drama queen yes but shes whining over the turkey and all she has to do, and arguing with him. (He does 90% of the things around the home so I don't get her stress to begin with..lol).. But if shes SO stressed, DONT COOK. Geesh. People cause their own issues.

Understand, I stopped cooking big holiday meals "alone" years ago due to my back. But when I did it I never complained, nor was I overwhelmed and I was working 45 hrs a week, and doing everything in the home and with my kids as my 1st husband didn't do anything around the house. (Unlike my husband now who helps with everything). And I never was stressed out.

I hear so many people complaining (including my grown kids who will still be shopping 2 days before Christmas). lol.

Anyway my husband and I are going out to eat Thanksgiving (kids go to their dads family). But we have the grandkids T giving night TO black Friday. But we planned ahead and are ready. Christmas Eve my daughter cooks (We go early and I lend a hand).

But there is no reason to be stressed over the holidays. Plan ahead, and take your time, BREATH, and ENJOY YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY.

Its that simple!

PS another thing is, I hear jokes of people spending time with their family and arguments. We have never had a family argument on ANY holiday. I don't know maybe our family is different. But I don't "get" any of this. lol. Am I alone?
