I do commend his weight loss, but again, it's his business, not mine.
@AuntG If my post came across as a criticism, it wasn't meant to be. It was just an observation that surprised me because he's been so careful in previous food demos that it took me by surprise to see him eat quite a bit. Nothing more, nothing less intended.

And this is why people should not discuss their diet in public, and their "journey" or whatever he calls it. If someone mentioned his weight loss all he had to say was, "yes, I lost a few pounds" and leave it at that. Very boring to most people anyway.

I heard him mention ER visits yesterday for himself when he was advocating giving the Lindt truffles to police, firefighters, EMTs, and ER staff. I do believe he is facing heatlh challenges requiring him to change his eating habits. This has to be difficult for him knowing the holidays are coming.

I think it's a no buy for me when they are tasting so much food and trying to talk at the same time , then wasting a good bit when they cut a big slice and take a nibble. the entire concept is old and so is much of the sales tactics .

Low carb diets do not count calories. In fact, many high calorie foods are eaten and encouraged to lose weight.
Things that you must stay away from have a lot of carbs...like starchy foods made with wheat, corn and sugary items.
The goal is to put and keep your body starved from high carb foods. Ketosis is the term that your body achieves where it burns fats instead of carbs and you lose weight.
If you eat too many carbs, your body is not in ketosis anymore and the diet stops working. From what I saw David eating yesterday, his body was not burning fats and he will not lose weight. No way he is in ketosis after that.
He might have achieved his goal and is adding carbs back in his diet, but the simple sugary stuff he was eating will cause him to gain. He added the wrong type of carbs.
I have lost 100 lbs doing a low carb diet yeats ago when I was in my 20's, but the diet made me sick. It caused by heart to go into Afib.
I have tried this type of diet twice and in the long term, it caused me health problems.
Any how, it's his life and his business. Too bad he made his " journey" public. It might come back to bite him.
I hope his diet did not cause him health concerns.

I couldn't agree more. Since this all too public health "journey" began, I thought it was a terrible idea for a sundry of reasons.
Most diets fail miserably and to make it so public would only add to the stress.
I wonder whose idea it was...his or his employer?

OH OH!!! David...
Pls, pls..be very careful!!
*Refined Sugar!*
Esp, like many of us, who know our penchant for items that contain "refined sugar."
It's not a moral issue! It's a chemical issue!!
*REFINED SUGAR* (& the cutesy names they use for refined sugar on an ingredient list) is super, super, super ADDICTIVE!!
And I dont mean it as an hyperbole. *Refined sugar* is a highly, highly addictive (& accepted) substance,
And as such, the food industry is even allowed to put it in products that normally we, as home cooks, wouldnt even add to our own cooking (ex, some cans of Chicken Broth. Even like Chicken Broccoli frozen dinners.) (at least, that I hadnt added refined sugar when I homemade those products).
And as with every highly addictive chemical substance, the more you take it in, the more you want. Just like that first drink to an alcoholic, only refined sugar is far more prevalent, and societally accepted & soo, so more easy to "trip over." at any grocery store!, or food place.
And the Food Industry knows it's addictive, just like the Tobacco Industry knew about their products, as addictive, before finally revealed.
Refined sugar keeps ppl coming back, re-buying the same (refined sugar added) products, just like Food Products want of you. It's called "Repeat Customers!"
I dont know if it still exists, but for years, Slim Fast's top Ingredient, then top 3 ingredients was refined sugar! No wonder continued, or leveled off weight loss was near impossible to lose or maintain. And that discouraged many who tried so hard to lose/maintain weight loss!
This is not a popular revelation, or information, so apologize to any one who didnt want this, above, revealed.
