Re: Highly sensitive person...this is a real personality trait

I don't know what the book is about, but there are personality traits which have been shown to be genetic. Shyness is one.

I guess I thought we were talking about being a "Highly Sensitive" person. My mistake.

Now I see it's about rude people, spoiled brats, temper tantrums etc. manipulating others to to get their own way.

I agree. Some have veered off from the topic completely.

I, too, agree.

It occurs to me that without all the "highly sensitive people" in our past, we would not have had wonderful operas or symphonies, beautiful works of art, or, perhaps, all the great literature that inhabit our concert halls, museums and libraries.

But, perhaps all the practical, no-nonsense, blunt people might be okay with that?

Ford and JuJu.......is it a real medical affliction? Also, does HR call it a protected class?

Major Personality Study Finds That Most Traits Are Inherited

THE genetic makeup of a child is a stronger influence on personality than child rearing, according to the first study to examine identical twins reared in different families. The findings shatter a widespread belief among experts and laymen alike in the primacy of family influence and are sure to engender fierce debate.

I don't know what a "protected class" is. I see it as a genetic character issue, not a personality trait.

I don't know what a "protected class" is. I see it as a genetic character issue, not a personality trait.

An example would be people with disabilities and the employer has to make sure all of their needs are provided for in the work environment.

I'm a firm believer if you can define it, label it...then you can deal with it.

Re: Highly sensitive person...this is a real personality trait

It just seems to me that if a person wants to be treated differently because they feel different from you and me, then their assertion of being a highly sensitive person needs to be documented by a professional.
