Hi tech security .. low tech security

I just got a visit from my next-door-neighbor informing me that his house was broken into and robbed the day before. He has a nice high tech security system and has video of the couple that broke in, in full color and time-stamped. Time from breaking the window to exit ... 3 minutes. They lost all their jewelry and coin collections.

He just wanted me to know that we should be careful, and he is going to invest in a higher-tech security system and thought I might be interested.

I told him our house was broken into the week before but instead of taking anything, they actually left something at our house ... DNA. When I came home and opened the door, I discovered enough blood in my entryway to qualify for a CSI crime scene.

We have two fairly large dogs, including a nine-year 103-lb German Shepherd rescue we picked up a few months ago.

So ... high -tech ... you get color pictures and time stamps .. but lose your possessions.

Low-tech .... you get a messy floor .... but don't lose any belongings. And .. you get a nice cuddly friend to boot!
