@Kachina624 I saw your Gov on TV.  She seemed to be on top of things.

@Stevie Nix  "I believe the sites you mentioned in NJ & NY are FEMA test sites. There are many other non-FEMA test sites."

Not in South Joisey.  Care to share where the others are?

The ONLY FEMA test site is in Philly.  There are NO FEMA test sites in South Joisey-Camden County.  As previously stated, only 3 sites (non-FEMA).  First responders from area hospitals are doing the test & testing themselves.

Re: 🧪 Hey New Yorkers. I have a❓🧪

There isn't a whole lot of testing being done in many states, so it makes sense that NY is easily on top.

I haven't heard of any testing locations anywhere that tested just based on people wanting a test for their own reasons. There still aren't enough test kits for that. So if you want to know because you're afraid of infecting someone close to you or you want to go back to work and not infect your co-workers, you're kind of out of luck.

With no on-demand testing we're supposed to act as if everyone is infected but asymptomatic.

Yet I see people on tv and even in stores going out iand about in public, yelling and chanting and talking and mingling and jogging without masks on. They are not acting as if they are assuming they have the virus and are asymptomatic. They are acting like they have not a care in the world.

Re: 🧪 Hey New Yorkers. I have a❓🧪

I live in NC and I had to FIGHT to get tested.  I work retail, I HAD it, and couldn't get tested!!!??

I called the hotline and was told that my county was ONLY testing:

1) Over 65

2) If you've been out of the country or had direct contact with a person who has tested positive.

3) Have an underlying condition.

I was none of the three.  Only when my temp jumped on the 16th day did I go to the ER and fight for a test!

I would LOVE to now take a serology but, I have only heard of one place near me, but it was for first responders.

All of the numbers are crazy, especially when you think that only 1-5% of each areas population has been tested, so that leaves 95-99% that have been infected or waiting to get infected!!

I have no words, except STAY HOME UNTIL WE GET TESTING ON EVERY CORNER!!!

In my city in Texas, several Test sites are restricted to health care workers....

However, there is one drive-through site available for the general public, a physcians referral is NOT needed, but self-screening is required through an online tool and you must exhibit symptoms, then you can call to make an appointment to get tested.....

In NYC a prescription for testing must be gotten. It is not given to those who do not have symptoms. Testing is still not available to hospital workers. We have the most tested because of the large population. There are some drive thru testing sites but again you must have a prescription.

Re:  NYC Covid-19 testing

In all of Cumo's press conferences he always mentions NY has done more testing than any other state.

Are there hundreds of testing sites around NYC?

Not counting first responders & hospital patients, are ordinary citizens getting tested too if they want?

South Joisey 2 weeks ago set up 3 testing sites.  They have been set up for weeks, but only 1 had testing kits. Smiley Mad

Currently at 1 site, ONLY first responders can get tested.

Currently at the other 2, ONLY folks who have a doctor's rx.  If you do not have one, you will be turned away.  Matter of fact, you can't even get near a testing site if you do not have a rx.

The bar for testing is dismally low.
