It was 100 at 9:00 and 116 at noon in Phoenix. Another fine day.

I just read that today Phoenix broke the heat record it's had since 1974.

@SharkE. It was supposed to be 105° here but it clouded up and we only made it to 103°.  This summer is no fun, is it.?

Every county and mid to large cities should be preparing for more of these high heat days. Funds should be set to build daytime and night sleeping places for cooling off and hydration. Those without any transportation should be able to call for assistance to get to these shelters. People that need air conditioners but can't afford them should get some help. Medical providers such as hospitals and walk in clinics should be set with the provisions needed to treat heat related illnesses. Other strategies should be applied.

This is a life and death situation and we need to be prepared.

I live in the Seattle 'burbs and it's about mid-70's at 7:16 pm and the low will be in the 50's. We sure got lucky here in the northwest. Going to be a glorious weekend.
