They were made on all the earlier memorial threads, each one closed out, one-by-one, as a result.   It's unfortunate for it to happen, no matter who does it or where it happens or what "side" we are judged to be on. (sigh)   Wish we could erase the line in the sand and be all one side, our side. 😔

And they're being made in the FUNERAL thread today, by the same people who are upset in this thread. Talk about hypocrisy and double standards.

My father's funeral was three weeks ago. If anyone had disrespected him on that day the way John Lewis has been disrespected on this forum, well I can't say what I would have wanted to do to them.

And I said NOTHING disrespectful to Herman Cain.

I thought a lot of Mr. Cain and have been saddened by his death.  You know, at the beginning of all this we were initially told NOT to wear masks, that they wouldn't do any good and took masks away from hospital personnel.  Then ok, wear masks if you want to but really not necessary.  Now, it's wear a mask or you're killing people or will be killed.  So in my opinion  if there are people out there that insist there is no reason to wear one, there's ample reason to understand why.  Even the ones who still think this is a hoax. ... I can understand why they think it.

I've worn a mask from the beginning as well as DH and purchased them when you could buy 300 of them for under $20 on eBay!!  I've never believed it to be a hoax but I don't believe it was an animal=human transmission.  I believe it was developed in the Bio Tech Lab right there where it began.  I know that's up for debate and those who want to are welcome to the discussion.

Even if this horror was brought on to Mr. Cain by Mr. Cain himself, he still doesn't deserve this on the day he's passed away.  I also believe he would be the first one to tell everyone he made a costly mistake and to take this illness seriously.

Rest In Peace Mr. Cain,

@Cakers3  You see glee instead of a flat-out acceptance of reality with no sugar coating.

I do not believe one person here feels "glee" about this death or any Covid death because every one of them antes up the odds more of us are going to die and most of us know how deadly this virus is in our midst.

Accusing, turning on posters is creeping into this thread and helps how?  We all need to be on the same page as one working entity to stop this virus.

We all need to get real and fast.  We don't have any time to fool around with silly arguments and trying to up one another.  People who remain insistent on choosing the chance to die will do so and they may live or they may be soon dead.  Their gamble.

The odd thing is watching apparentlhy smart people make foolish choices and that their choices affect the choices that many other people choose to make to their deaths.  Incredible, but going on every day.  It's like mass  invisible lobotomies were performed.

Of course not! Some people have major hate for people they don't agree with. Why this is continued to be allowed on one side is beyond me.

On one side? You've got to be kidding. Every single thread about John Lewis was shut down by the hate of one side. People can't even control themselves in his funeral thread. Puhlease.

@Greeneyedlady21   You might edit your post to read "SOME PEOPLE" instead of "the same people".

I'm not even on the funeral thread and I dislike being tagged as a hypocrite with double standards.

Thank you.

@Cakers3 No thanks, I'm leaving my post as is. I think it's obvious and should be obvious I'm referring to people who posted on the funeral thread.

@Free2be   I respect you opinion and I have posted until my fingers felt like they would fall off everywhere on this board about unity.  And not just regarding the virus.

I take no pleaure in what I wrote; but there are remarks that are just about the mask instead of only expressing sympathy.

And I'm getting tired of the "I can post what I want" etc. etc. etc.

There are some topics that, to me, are sacred.  One topic is the death of another human being.

The virus is often used as a cover to express disdain for those not of one's ilk.  I think one woud be hard pressed not to see that in motion.

We have discussed masks/distancing/ and all the other do's and don't's until I thought this board would just groan and collapse.

This death was not the time and place.

@Greeneyedlady21  No it isn't "obvious".  It is a blanket statement and I fail to see why it was even important to drag up the old "double standards".

I don't believe the death of any human being should be mocked; but I also don't believe that the term "double standards" is healthy.

You clearly stated that the same persons upset on this thread are the ones trashing the John Lewis funeral and that it not true.

I don't like the tone of this thread but I'm also not on the funeral thread.

That was my point.  You know this.

But you do you.

@Cakers3   I find many of your replies to be the "voice of reason."

Thank you for your insight.
