I copied this from FB, and it had an arrow on it that you click on which shows what is wrong with this fresh fish. Unfortunately, the arrow does not show up on the pasted picture.
I tried to delete this, but you answered too quickly. If it had worked, the arrow makes the photo come alive and magnifies it enough to show a live worm wiggling right in the center of the product, where it seems a little pinker and you can see the line if you look closely. That is the worm.

Oh, I'm not bashing Costco, this is just how it was presented on the FB page. I've never shopped there, and I'm sure it could happen at any store.

Someone posted in Fashion Talk about some clothing she bought from Costco that was of poor quality. So I titled my thread "something else" and then posted it in Viewpoints, where it doesn't make sense if one did not see the other post. I really have my thinking cap on backwards today!!

I actually did find a (dead) "worm" in a piece of fried cod when we were out to dinner a few year ago.
Later, I received a call from someone in the fish industry who was connected to the the sale of fish to that restaurant and he gave me pretty much the exact same information as in the linked article here.
He referred to cod as a "bottom feeder" and it was common for them to pick up these parasites. He explained the same process as in the article that they use to look for these before selling the fish, and he also assured us that the fish is completely safe when fully cooked.
If you eat cod (or similar fish), there's a chance you've encountered this and didn't even know it.
