I don't believe anyone who worked with the public for 40 YEARS has never been berated.
People are crazy.

People are crazy.
She said never berated for escalating a call.

Exactly @Mj12.
I said berated by management.
Yorkie clearly read only what she wanted to see.
People ARE crazy.

Soo stupid, I just can't.
@Laura14 Getting back on topic - of course no one would want you to give out their info. Don't even worry about it!

What would I do? I would follow the company's policy, whatever is it. If a customer or client wants to go up the chain-of-command, I would be happy to assist them. Done and over. Not a big deal.

I always ask the person to leave me their number and I will call the person and give them your number. Seems to work fine.

In this day and age it's disconcerting to think that this would be anything other than a "NO."

I said I'm sorry I can't give out someone's personal information and he got upset. I said I wouldn't give out yours either to someone who called and asked for it. He didn't get that either.
He is now speaking to a manager.
Would you want a company you do business with to hand out your personal information to anyone who called and asked for it? Even another customer?
Am I still with it or is that freely done now too?
I'd have a fit if a company gave someone my phone number. If they want it, they can ask me the next time they see me. Or Hello Google.
@Laura14 If it were me, I'd wait and forget about it until my boss tells me what they want done. Otherwise, no problem.
You seem to have so many questions about your work place. It must be very stressful for you to go there.
Basically centered around one question and it was answered perfectly.😊👏
