All those comnas make that sentence difficult to read. No comnas should be used in that sentence.

This is just so tempting. Can't resist.
What are comnas?

Now there’s one way to try to make a point - ...
‘The AGENCIES know.’ about the scamming (said poster) is speaking of, but they don’t release that information.
So much self satisfaction and judgement in this thread. Really, very sad.
I stick with -
one can learn much about others by the way they treat those they feel are less than they are.
I’m with you in this.

This is my last post on the subject matter because it's obvious that this thread isn't about having a discussion; it's about as long as you agree with certain views it's all good.
That's rubbish. That's also why so many issues don't change. People don't want to hear what others have to say and think about it; they simply attack another viewpoint. As long as that happens, nothing will ever change.
Just because you see don't see something doesn't mean it isn't going on. And every person is allowed and should have their opinions without being attacked and insulted for it. However, this is the norm for so many things today.
Carry on, ladies. Cheers.

@Drythe Agatha Christie( the mystery writer) tells in her autobiography, how damaging it was for her mother , to be wrenched away from her mother, when she was a young child.
It colored her attitude for the rest of her life ,and shook her self confidence to the core
She was sent to a lovely home ,with an aunt. Imagine what it would be like for a child ,just to be sent to anyone, or an institution for a while
I don't know why anyone would think that was a good solution for anyone, especially the child?

@cherry The best solution would be to identify those parents who are not adequately caring/feeding their children and teach them what they can do to rectify the problem but if they refuse and are unwilling to change and start caring for their children by feeding them properly then they are abusing them just as much as if they would beat them and the children need to be helped even if that means removal. That is better than letting a child starve and depend on the chance that someone will feed them while the parents do their own thing! Like I stated, based on my real experience, a good many of the parents step up and take advantage of parenting help and end up quite good parents once they know what they can do to change. When children are in danger of being removed, there is a wonderful organization (CASA) that has volunteers advocating for the children who work with the parents and the system. Why would anyone who claims they care about the children want to see a child stay in such a situation??
No one knows how not being cared for properly will do to a child over time and I do think way back when Agatha Christie's mother was taken from her mother it was an entirely different scenario.

@SahmIam Sorry to see you go but you have to have seen some agreement and some disagreement on both sides.
I cannot speak for everyone else but I certainly posted agreement with some posts and I have also countered against other posts.
Nobody said nothing is going on-that is what YOU see and is an unfair accusation based on posters disagreeing as to the extent of the scamming issue.
I'm still waiting for the proof as to how many people starve because of scammers.
This topic really shouldn't be about opinions-in that some feel children shouldn't even get a free coat. That is an unkind assessment of that child's family.
However, if we are going to discuss the issue in terms of how our society has arrived at this point and what can be done-that is fair game.
By your own admission you do not like people disagreeing with you and throw out the reason being that they don't believe you. That is unfair.
Asking questions, looking for back up, submitting opposing pov from reputable sources shouldn't be looked upon as turning one's head and refusing to see.
This topic is important but not etched in stone by anyone.
You know this.
