I'm in Arizona and last month I used a hot pad more than once to open my front door after going down to get the mail. My house faces west and the door handle would easily burn your hand.

@Cakers3. You know you're in Texas when you see towels draped over steering wheels of parked cars.  Ive burned my hand more than once.

I have had to use work gloves or pot holders all summer to open my car door handle, pick up the garden hose nozzle, and even open the mailbox. It was 100 degrees last night at 10pm. It's 106 now. No end in sight, and we need some rain.
