My 4 year old Golden Retriever, Max, is behaving very strangely.
He went to the groomers on Wednesday - usual place - and was happy to go, and happy to see me when I picked him up. The night I get him, he's usually a bit tired, almost as if he's had a 'busy day', but perks up later on. Well this time he's been very strange since he returned.
It's almost as if he on valium, and has been moping around since Thursday. He's been eating OK and doing everything else OK. I have felt him all over to see if he hurts anywhere and he doesn't appear to. I spoke to the groomer today to ask if she noticed anything strange about him on Wednesday, and she said he was just as normal - an absolute doll.
He's coming to me almost like a dog who's done something wrong - head down and looking up at me sorrowfully. He's not interested in his bone either.
Haven't taken his temp - will do that when DH gets home and I have help. Don;t want to rush to the vets since he is eating etc. and don't want a load of bloodwork done only to be told there's nothing they can see that's wrong.
Obviously will go soon if he's not looking better, but can anyone give me any ideas of what this might be, or if I have a dog that's just 'off color'?
