Help with choosing a coffee maker

I'm looking to buy my son's girlfriend a coffee maker for Christmas. She loves coffee & goes to different coffee shops around town.

Since I've been using my Gevalia coffee maker for years, I'm out of the loop as to what would be a good coffee maker to buy in todays' market. I would like to get her something nice, not the Mr. Coffee style [if they still make them].

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
