Help with cats peeing in the house

Some of you may remember my post back in March about the pregnant feral cat I live trapped. She had 5 babies two weeks after we caught her. We were able to place four of her babies, and could not find a home for the 5th one. We could not touch her, although she was in the back room of our house, so we couldn't put her up for adoption either. We already had 4 cats of our own, and added two more with the mom and her baby.

We have had problems off and on over the years with cats peeing in the house. We have added strays to the mix over the years, and this has probably been at the root of the problem. I was very ill informed, because I thought if we showed love and support to every cat under our roof, harmony would eventually be achieved. But I couldn't have been more wrong.

Like I mentioned above, we have had problems with cats peeing. I would find a place, go and get the cats, and then it would be relatively calm with no more incidents for a long while. But a few months ago, we introduced the new kitten to our cats, and also started leaving the door to the back room where the mommy lives, open. She would venture out for short periods, and I think that this is when things started deteriorating very badly. I would find areas in many rooms where someone had peed and it had dried. So I probably did not find the areas until it really had gotten into the floor. I had to remove a really good area rug from my dining room that smelled. I worked on the edges and the fringe, but still have to work on it with Nature's Miracle, as it still smells. It is out in my garage.

We stated off by removing two of our cats who have a history of peeing in the house. They were put in the back room with the feral mom. Things calmed down a bit, but then we started finding places again. We then removed another cat and brought a urine sample from her to the vet. They said she had a UTI, so we treated her, all the time, keeping her off on her own locked up in a downstairs bathroom. Today I moved her to the back room with the others. So then we were down to a cat of our own and the baby having the run of our downstairs. Today I found two areas where one of the peed. I removed the adult cat and she is now in the back, along with the four other ones. The only one remaining to have the run of our downstairs is the 6 month old baby.

I am feeling like I am an inch away from having a nervous breakdown. Every time I find a place where they have gone, I clean up the urine and treat with Nature's Miracle. Since this problem started to get really bad about a month ago, I have gone through two gallons of the stuff and numerous spray bottles. We do not have carpeting in our home where this is happening-just tile and wood floors. I fear it has gotten into and below the wood floor in the room where this behavior seems to be the worse. I feel beaten by these cats and am almost ready to give up. Today, it seems like the only way to get out of this problem is to consider putting to sleep the ones who I know have been doing it off and on for years, and to try to place the baby and the mother when she will let us touch her. She has come such a long way, from hissing and trying to bite and claw when we first got her, to sitting and looking at me now- even though I cannot touch her.

I don't know what to do.....
