This may seem like an odd question but here goes. Does everyone know Knight Rider? Lol My son is working on a project for work using knight rider as a theme. He got feedback from someone that everyone would not know the show. I just thought it was a pop icon that everyone would know. I'm asking here to get an idea from the general population. I would so much appreciate your responses!

I think only people from a certain generation would be familiar with ""Knight Rider"".

My Mom used to love that show. I think it was in the early 80s?

I just googled the show and it says it ran from '82 - '86. I don't know if the show is in re-runs or not. Don't know if this is helpful or not.

^^^^^this. OP I guess it depends on what your son's project is for. I'm not sure Knight Rider's very popular. I had to google to see what it is lol.

It was a show with David Hasselhoff and a black "talking car"... it was okay, and he was really cute back then. He was a high-tech crime fighter in the story lines.

Yes '82-'86. My son, now 35 also loved the show. He even had the knight rider car that you drove with the flashing red light. He's doing a driving safety video and he wants to use knight rider theme, he's very creative but he did get feedback that not everyone would "get it" which is why I am asking here. I really appreciate any responses!!

It was a favorite show of mine but my great nephew (9) knows nothing about it and when discussing KITT and all he could do he reminds me that a lot of the stuff KITT could do his mom's car can do!!!!

Therefore, unless your son's project approach is to teach others about Knight Rider and what was seemingly fantasy then has become reality now it might not reach his generation.

If you think about it, we kind of have the technology today that K.I.T.T. had.

K.I.T.T. had radar, and cars today have that sensor that lets you know if there is another car in your blind spot.

K.I.T.T. had navigation, today's cars have that.

K.I.T.T. could drive itself, and one brand (Ford?) has that feature where the car can parallel park itself.
