I want to send something to my friends's sister who is home after rehab and not doing well.  Any gift ideas, I'm at a loss.  Her attention span is not good, she has no appetite so food items won't work, and flower delivery out of state is quite expensive.  Just want to send a little something as an I'm thinking of you gift.

A soft and pretty lap robe.

Does she read? Books are great.

Socks-always great.

Ask your friend because a lot of times in situations like this anything you send isn't going to click with them and most often they don't need more stuff.

Talk to your friend and maybe do something for her.  Maybe even offer to wash a load of clothes, run an errand or take her out for lunch.

It can be very hard when someone is out of state from you.  I always appreciated  flameless candles (with batteries and a timer) so I got a soft relaxing glow of light but no work when I recovering.

Good luck your search and you are so kind to be thinking of her!

To let someone who is not doing well know I am thinking of them, I send a card.

L'Occitane hand cream (original unscented) or body lotion. If she doesn't use it, her primary caregiver will certainly need it.

Re: Help with Gift Ideas

Given your parameters, a card with jokes printed on floral paper (google for both) included in the envelope. Laughter is the best medicine and she can reread/share the jokes with others (more benefit). If recovery will take a while, you can always send a new set as often as you wish (use different paper to distinguish).

So kind of you to care for her.  Unless your friend knows of a specific need or want, I would go with a card.

Also she might love a follow up card or two.

When I send flowers out of state, I just look up a florist on line by zip code and then place an order by calling them directly. Never had a problem.

Please anyone in a situation like this, check before you send anything to be sure it will be needed and welcome.  It is so difficult and sometimes more things are only a problem.

Just a card or call or text to let them know you are thinking of them and would something be appropriate would be very appreciated.
