When our daughter got a horrific flea infestation in her apartment, Flea Busters (Google it and order online; it is nontoxic and comes with directions.) helped her get the problem under control in a few days. You have to treat your cats regularly to avoid getting fleas. We use Frontline monthly and it works well. The cat doesn't have to take a pill. You just squeeze a vial of the medication on the skin between the cat's shoulder-blades, and any fleas die.

Have you tried putting the pll into an empty gelatin capsule and then putting the capsule into a treat? I give one of my cats pills twice daily and the other once daily and this works well for me. The gelatin capsules keep the pill from dissolving into the treat and making it taste or smell bad. As far as treats, besides tuna i have good luck with a little bit of flounder, shrimp, ham steak or chicken, gently warmed in the microwave. You can get the empty gelain capsules from amazon or at a drugstore. There are different sizes, get the smallest one that will hold the pill. I hope this helps you at least with the pill part.
