Vaseline Lip Therapy at night!
01-28-2015 03:06 PM
It's a common problem in the winter, one which is make worse if you lick your lips when they're dry or uncomfortable. I do that and didn't know it made them worse until I read about it, something about what's naturally in saliva that makes the problem worse.
I can't use Chapstick because it causes a breakout of a cold sore, it also spreads a cold sore.
I'm glad you started this line, I'm interested in the replies, also.

Just checked, Aquaphor makes a 5 star lip repair, said to be #1 dermatologist recommended.
It's carried in my area by CVS pharmacy, Target and Lucky grocery stores.

I've been using SKINN Lip 6X and haven't had the problem for years.

I use Burt's Bees lip products. I like the moisturizing feel of them, and I like having some lip color too.
Every so often, when I'm exfoliating, I gently go over my lips. It helps a lot.

It almost sounds like an allergic reaction. Think about anything that comes in contact with your lips. Cosmetics, mouth products, food/drink, smoking, even chewing a pencil, licking envelopes? Are you maybe 'kissing' someone that is wearing aftershave or something? Letting the dog lick your face?
If this keeps up, you can get a bacterial infection. Good luck!

I am sorry that you are dealing with this problem.
My lips also get really dry too, during the winter.
I agree with those who recommend trying either Aquaphor or Vaseline.
