Help please--looking for dvd series

I am hoping to find a good dvd series similar to the shows Gilmore Girls or Felicity or Dawson's Creek. A sweet coming of age or family drama series. It can be an older one but I'd like one not so outdated that it would seem odd to watch it now.

I remember the series "Life goes On" and loved that--but it's not all on dvd.

Has anyone ever seen "Party of Five"--what's it like?
