I download books from my library all the time. Most go directly to my Kindle or Kindle Fire (I have both) with no problem. Sometimes they need to be downloaded through the USB port on my Windows 7 laptop.
Recently I decided to branch out and try an audiobook but I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded the Overdrive App to my Kindle Fire. I selected the audiobook to download and it went to Amazon as usual but then it asked me if I want to open the file or save it (I expected that it would have just downloaded to my Kindle Fire but that didn't happen).
I opted to save it to my desktop (windows 7). It has an .ODM extension. I don't know how to get it on my Kindle. If I try to open the file, it says Windows doesn't recognize the file. When I say Windows should find a program to open the file, it says I have a registry problem and need to download RegSERVO to fix registry errors (instantly fix and open .ODM files).
Is RegSERVO legitimate? Have I made this harder than it needs to be? All I really want to do is get the WMA Audiobook onto my Kindle Fire. Help.
