I read that Mally sold her makeup company for $10M. Why would she need to sell clothing or even work anywhere after that? That's what I don't get.

Huh.  Interesting background.   I'm just going to say she's a "creative type" and move on.

People make career changes for all sorts of reasons ... financial, creative, or even to get out of a situation with a spouse you've decided to divorce.

Or someone makes you an offer you can't refuse.

Or you need a fresh start with a new project.

It could be anything, but it looks like they're just going where the wind takes them.

It could be a combination of reasons, too.

@SilleeMee  10 million after taxes tons of taxes , and satisfying company debt doesn't leave as much as we would like.   many people work having millions and billions because they want too.  Maybe she's earning SS points, and such. My guess is she is young, bored. She seems like an active, active gal

No difference between her  " designs "  and Lawrence Zarian or Jennie Garth or  Carla Rockmore or  any of the Studio Park pieces where  they just replicate pieces from other " real designers  " or have their  " staff  fashion design artist  "create for them.

 Have not cared for anything from Mally's  pieces so far.

That latest top with all the  ribbing  in the front was a design  I saw many years ago .

@Bonkers1

She could very well have more than one passion. I know I do.

@skatting44

I have not cared for any fashion/clothing being sold on QVC for years now.The last few items I did purchase were no better than something you could find in Walmart, yet, they had a big price tag. So overpriced!

Mally LLC, has been sold to Beauty Visions LLC, effectuated through a Chapter 11 Section 363 process, and was approved by the Bankruptcy Court in the District of Maryland.

Mallygirl is an international cosmetics brand founded in 2005 by Mally Roncal, a long-time celebrity makeup artist. Annual sales topped $30 million in 2014, on the back of its valuable relationships with QVC and Ulta Beauty stores. Distribution of Mallygirl products is handled at a warehouse in White Marsh, MD.

In addition to retail distribution, the company also has a direct-to-consumer presence through its own e-commerce site, Mally Beauty.com as well as other beauty e-retailers.

According to chief restructuring officer Michael Lang, the acquisition by Beauty Visions will allow the company to emerge from bankruptcy properly capitalized and well positioned to continue serving customers and working with our vendors. The support from both groups has been phenomenal and we are excited for this new chapter.”

Interestingly enough, we went out to Christmas Eve dinner close to Rock Center and there were women at two separate tables in similar color suits.  They definitely caught my eye, but actually looked so pretty.  I've also seen Erin Andrews and other female sportscasters wearing bright pink suits.

Many of us are very successful in our day jobs, and it's only later in life we get to pursue our own dreams.

Also, selling a business isn't always in the form of cash or without having debt to pay down as she obviously did. Most companies carry loans and investor buyout terms just like personal real estate does.

I wish her success, if this is where her heart truly is.
