Help! Cannot remember word

Years ago my Aunt,use to cook on the wood stove. She used a word concerning a fry pan, it was not skillet, but something else that started with a ( S) I think.

I have been trying to remember what it was, but drawing a blank.

All family from, generation before, have passed, so nobody to ask.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
