Help! Any Electrical wisdom out there?

I just got a new lamp that was delivered today. I plugged it in an outlet in my kitchen and it caused my electrical outlets to stop working in that area. At first, I didn't know this, I thought it was the lamp not working. Then I noticed other things wouldn't work when plugged in. I then took the lamp into two other rooms testing it, and it caused those outlets to not work. Stupid me, I should have just stopped when in the kitchen.

Now, I'm sitting here and my refrigerator isn't working because the outlet it's plugged into isn't working. Dh isn't home at the moment, he should be home shortly...he'll figure it out, but my question is this...is it my lamp?

I'm bummed, I love this lamp but I think it's cursed! Any thoughts?
