At least you don't have to buy it yourself! Where have you been staying during the repair? Take care and I hope you get back in soon.

Hello Mama Mia.......thank you. That is why I don't own a home. It would be nice to have a home but the cost of repairs I could not pay on a tight budget.......my boyfriends sister lives down the street so it has been easy for me.

Hi RR&R,

Yep, pretty good week for us. Got a general contractor about ready to start work on our hail damage home, maybe next week. New roof/broken windows and all sorts of other damage. Beat up so bad they are replacing a lot of the siding and repainting the whole exterior of our house and outdoor shed.

Hope you get things fixed up in short order. Some companies that fix internal water damage use a vacuum type of machine to pick up the water and then some use a dehumidifying type of fan to remove the rest of the moisture. That is what was done when we had our basement full of water when a sillcock broke.

Take care now,

Hello John and wife......so happy you are getting your work started next week on your home and that they are doing so many repairs. It will be really nice when they are finished. They are not using a dehumidifying machine and I wonder if it is going to hurt my furniture while the carpet is drying? My landlord does not care about what their renters own........they are cheap.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

When I lived in a bigger city I never had trouble with my water going cold on my bath and shower........but the ones this landlord uses and since I have been with them 10 years.....they are not good quality hot water heaters....if they would buy nice ones they would not have to replace as often..........I am so glad it did not reach my dinning room, bedroom and living room it would have ruined my furniture.

I could have gone two hours out of town and stayed with a friend but I wanted to be able to check on my place each day.

I don't blame you (too far). Hopefully, they fix it soon.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

If it is not dry today then they won't come over the weekend to finish........so when I go home soon to check it and the fans are still blowing then I will let them blow one more night and surely by then they will be dry but then I will have those huge fans in my home trying to walk around them.........maybe they will be gone when I get home and the floors dry.......it was a cool week here and no sunshine for two days and I know being hot outside would have made the concrete slab hot and it should have dried faster.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

Hi R&R, I had a nice week. It was cool here out on the coast a good thing during the drought.

I have been swimming and exercising my creaky shoulders.

I just asked mr henny, he said he wasn't sure what size our new water heater is. He said either thrity or forty gallons. We have a two story house with five bathrooms, washer dryer etc and it is more than ample.

I must have missed something. I didn't know you had a new boyfriend. That is wonderful. What does he do? Does he live near you?
