Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

Well, maybe RRR is having a much needed rest away from home. Although, true, the carpets/padding should have been wet vacuumed first. (Replacement of hallway carpeting/padding is the best way, as long as the floor underneath is completely dry.) If I were the manager/owner, I would have removed the carpeting/padding and dried the floor. Then replace with new carpeting.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

You need to make sure you leave the thermostat on the a/c low enough since the a/c is a dehumidifier. It's helping to remove the moisture from the apartment. Hopefully that will be enough to prevent mold from forming.

He should have insurance.

I had our hot water tank bust and it went all over my daughter's room walls etc. I turned it in to the Insurance. They had a company out within a couple hours ripped carpet up...cut out half of the wall as it just absorbed at the floorboard and went up..

They replaced EVERYTHING...floor..sub floor carpet etc..

drying it out with fans..huge industrial grade they did also..but then replaced everything..

I cannot believe this landlord told her to go stay someplace else for a couple days...that sounds like good advice with the exception HE SHOULD OF PAID FOR IT..not having her find her own alternate living plans.

I had a similar problem in a mobile home way back in the 70s. The first step the insurance company authorized was a simple extraction of the water and drying of the carpet. If it had been a home built on a slab, that probably would have been all that was necessary. With the mobile home, they use liquid nails to adhere the subflooring to the frame and the flood dissolved it. Ultimately, they had to tear out all the carpet and pad, and reattach all the subflooring.

Hi R&R, I had a nice week. It was cool here out on the coast a good thing during the drought.

I have been swimming and exercising my creaky shoulders.

I just asked mr henny, he said he wasn't sure what size our new water heater is. He said either thrity or forty gallons. We have a two story house with five bathrooms, washer dryer etc and it is more than ample.

I must have missed something. I didn't know you had a new boyfriend. That is wonderful. What does he do? Does he live near you?

Hello HennyPenny...........thank you for the information..........he is retired in the Navy.......younger than me but a great man and dad. Taking it one day at a time but I am his girlfriend and I hope we date for a very long time. He seems understanding about my physical issues..........I really don't talk about them much but I had to last night I was in a lot of pain.

I am home and it is nice to be here. I cleaned up and used my Shark Vac and it looks nice again. I got a great deal on a picture with two young women in their Downton Abbey clothes per se and I love it........it could have sold for $100 but I paid $20 and it looks so nice on my wall I just had to have it..........it is good to be home.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

I do think my landlord should have paid for me a hotel room but they don't care. No way I could have stayed here with the floor soaking wet and in the hall way and the fans were so loud.........I was gone for 5 nights and 6 days.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

I can't believe the title of this post. I had a TERRIBLE week. I was coming home. I had decided to walk to work. I live less then 2 miles from work. I was fine and almost made it home. There are no sidewalks, so I walked in the street. A car suddenly came around the bend. I scurried over toward the right to get out of the way. I stepped in to a pot hole and slammed forward, face first on to the street. The car kept on going. I remembered it beeped it's horn. I remembered pushing my arms out to keep my face from getting injured on the way down. Well, I have a gouge in my right palm. I split my lip, with blood streaming from my face. I pulled myself up (nobody saw this) and limped home. My husband took one look at me and drove me to the hospital. No. I don't know anything about the car. It happened so fast. They gave me a stitch for my hand. And cleaned up my face. This happened on Wednesday.

Boyfriend? RRR has a boyfriend? When did this happen?

It's her friends brother, who's 10 year younger than RRR, lives 4 houses down, and has the 7 year old son. Is this relationship reciprocated? or he is buttering her up because school starts soon?

So you really think this post is fair to me? Shame on you.

Re: Hello, have you had a good week?

Unless a person is married nothing is official............I know what I need and if I don't get what I need in a relationship I discuss it and then if it does not happen I AM gone. So don't worry about my relationship missy...........I should be able to enjoy life and have someone even if its a great friend. Only time will tell............and I could have been online but my brother in law is not doing good and I have been busy in my home and flea marketing.......I don't see my boyfriend every day.........but I have since my water heater blew.
