Hellllooooooo! Is anyone home?

I just emailed my Director at work to find out if there are any systems problems this today.  I haven't received any emails or phone calls or work added to my work list since around 10am.  Bizarre.  Boring and bizarre.  He emailed back that's he's been working all day so there are no systems or work flow problems.  I'm thinking that people are in Christmas prep mode even though we have a whole week to go.  And we received a company wide email advising all employees that.......it's going to be cold tomorrow and we should all dress warmly.  I kid you not, that is what the email said.  The prediction is teens for tonight and 20's tomorrow.  Not so cold for MA in December.

Re: Hellllooooooo! Is anyone home?

A couple of times a manager would send an email saying a snowstorm was coming and we were expected to be at work no matter the conditions. One snowstorm, I was there and the management failed to make it in  - yet I came in from a rural area. Then things changed when someone was killed during a dangerous storm. I think the legal department stepped in because after that it was "we value your safety so it's up to your discretion whether you can make it in".

@chrystaltree I had to laugh at a company who doesn't think people who are old enough to hold down a job aren't smart enough to dress warmly for cold weather!! LOL

@Love my grandkids Cold isn't the issue........it's the icy roads and snow whiteouts.  NYS has had several completely can't see the road (called white-outs) problems today - starting at noon.

@AuntG

These folks in Management....SMH!!!

With our company, they used to expect us at work....but take your time....no penalties for arriving late (gee thanks 🙄)......then when several employees had accidents, thankfully not total losses no one was hurt and just "fender benders" and some asked the company to pay their insurance deductible.....So now its also YOU USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT, but time would be deducted from your vacation time if you chose to stay home..(yep, I guess legal advised that).....thankfully a lot of us have now been given the capabilities of working from home...So we dont have to be worried about driving in bad weather, and no deduction from vacation time.....YAY!!!

@fthunt Excuse me, but this is a **direct** quote from the OP's original post:

".......it's going to be cold tomorrow and we should all dress warmly."

That's exactly what they were told. You may want to re-read the post.
