Re: Height shrinkage for both of us.

Friend just sent this to me the other:

When people say enjoy them when you are young, they are not speaking of your children, but of your hips and knees!

lol, I think most of us here can relate unfortunately.  It's time for new glasses, but I gotta be honest, when I tried on a pair that belonged to my friend and looked in the mirror, I SURE DIDNT like what I saw...the truth. 😟.  I look much better in my old ones, even if I can't read the paper so well.

Thanks for all the laughs!
It helps to commiserate about getting older.

Here are a few fun cartoons about aging.

Re: Height shrinkage for both of us.

I suppose it's better than the alternative lol.  I don't mind shrinking in height do much . It's gray hair that I wish never happened.  I refuse to go blonde as so many my age do but with more salt than pepper iny hair, I look older than I feel.  I'm getting it colored in March.  A birthday present to myself.  My hair is healthy and I now love the curly texture that I hated and fought with for most ofy life.  I don't think my body ever did any weaving and bouncing lol.  It's the pain in my neck and knee from arthritis that age has gifted me.  My doctor calls it wear and tear arthritis and a natural part of aging.  Easy for her to say, she's only 50.  But I'm thankful for all the skincare, cosmetics, haircare, undergarments, stretch jeans and sparkly jewelry that keep me feeling good and looking good.

One ray of light is that your inseam does not seem to change!  Soon I might be 0'0' with a 28' pant 🤣

Many years ago at work, a friend was on a rant about the inconsistency of inseam length on her go to brand of dress slacks.  One of those I've been buying this brand for this many years and they've always been this, but now blah, blah, blah.

I just looked at her and listened.  So she asked me about my pants, and I told her they were women's capri pants from JCP, which fit me perfectly as slacks.  I told her my inseam is 24", the length of 2 rulers, so I am always cutting and hemming pants unless I can find a longer capri/ankle length pant.

When I start shrinking, knee length shorts in tall size may be just right!

I think I have lost 2 inches over time and I am short to start with.  I store winter sweaters on a shelf above pants hanging rod in my closet and I can't reach one to pull it down, the whole pile comes down and I can't put them back wthout just throwing them up there.  So DH made me a small 2" high short platform to put on the floor to stand on when I need somethng from that shelf.

He also had to move the hooks on the back of my door down so I can hang my robes up.  He also added a hand rail on the other side of the stairs so I now have a hand rail on both side of the stairs and I need that for safety.

Hair for some reason didn't turn grey but has faded a lot of color and now looks blonde like it did when I was young so that part is good, but it is getting thin. I was blessed with beautiful hair and was a hair model at times and was told I had "Movie Star" hair.  Sure don't anymore and I do miss my hair.

I only have very few minor wrinkles and don't look my age but I certainly feel my age and I would rather look my age but not feel like my age with all it's physical limitations and issues.  Major aches and pains and balance and various health issues, but at least I made it this far.

I also was thin and wore a 3 - 5 or 4-6 at most.  Now inched up to a 10-12.  Hard to believe I used to drink milkshakes to try to put on weight!
