Height shrinkage for both of us.

Mr. said he had to get some new jeans.  He got 2, then he admitted, he's getting a 1" larger waist band.  We'd be called Mr. and Mrs. Gone from verticle, now horizontal.  That's a really cruel blow after all these years.  Like at the store, trouble reaching those high shelves anymore, and having to lift $$$$ those lousy heavy grocery bags.  What a mess!!

Think my hair's really getting thinner too.  Again, not fair.  Not to mention a body that doesn't weave and bounce and bend the way it once did.  LOL.  I ask you, is this fair?

This is all in fun jest.  I'm not really complaining.  I have no choice so it's a lot of accepting.  Guess you can envision me becomming a Gnome.  Mrs. Gnome.  LOL.

I got a chuckle from your post. We have to laugh. We have no choice, but it is an adjustment.

Adjusting to getting older is a challenge that's for sure!

@qualitygal

At a recent lunch gathering of my high school girlfriends, one of my classmates said she was losing eyebrow hairs but it was just that they had moved to her chin !

Another of the adjustments we make at this part of the journey.  I personally call them the daily little indignities we are subjected to.   So unfair......

Some good humor - but alas, a lot of truth, too!  I have lost at least an inch or more in height and gained a lot more in inches going around!  Not good.  And my hair which used to be overly thick and almost unruly, is getting really thin on the top!  Also, skin and nails not great any more and have no strength or dexterity to speak of.  Oh, my --- I need to stop as I am getting kind of sad..... Woman Sad

Just another thing along with chin hair and t i t warts on the neck.Aging isn't pretty, for sure, but better than the alternative. BTW, I'm down an inch, too. Now 5' 71/2"

@catter70   You're tall! Imagine starting out a "pee wee". If the inches keep creeping away, I'll be following that "yellow brick road".

@qualitygal I hear you on the top shelf problem, but in my case the bottom shelf is just as bad.

I wanted a jar of gravy that was kind of set back on the bottom shelf and was not going to be able to get it without kneeling on the floor.  I asked a younger woman who was passing by if she could reach it for me and said "Sometimes I feel like I need to be Olga Korbut to get things in here!"

She very kindly got the jar for me and looked at me with an expression that clearly meant "Who the heck is Olga Korbut!"

Yet another drawback of having a few years on you!!

@781Florist   My DH can relate.  He mentioned Abbott and Costello to his friend's teenage daughter and she said "Who?"  This was years ago and DH still is amazed!!!

But I remind him that we don't know 90% of the current popular artists.  Another factor of getting "older."
