I was just leaving work and thought I'd check in to let you know I am safe......not so sound though.
I'm not going to complain because there are so many others in worse shape than me and my family.
We weathered the storm without any damage....just some downed branches and no electricity. About 80% of my town is without power, and "they" are saying that it could be another 7-10 days before power is restored. We have a hot water heater with a pilot light so we have hot water. YAY!!!!!
I've been working at the answering service......A LOT! Our building lost power Monday night around 5p and the generator died after about 5 hours, so our local hospital (not the one I work at on weekends) has been gracious enough to loan us a room, their internet and electricity. We are using laptops and remotely logging in to answer calls. Most of the 375 doctor offices we answer for are also w/o power, so it's been very busy. Normally, we would answer about 1000 calls per day, and yesterday we took over 4000 calls!!!!!
I don't know when I will be able to check back in, but I hope that everyone is OK and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
