Im curious, is it a dry desert heat like Las Vegas or do you have humidity? Do you have monsoons there also and what are the temps in fall and winter?

We've been broiling for 2 months here in  Colorado.  No rain, only high 90's and above and many fires.  I hate summer anyway, but this is just awful.  Remember, we're a mile or more closer to the sun.  Can you say skin cancer?

Where in Colorado do you live? My sister lives in the Springs and she cant stand the heat. I live in California and love our weather and the heat. She says Colorado Springs can be 80' outside and 2 hours later have a thunderstorm and hail. Im in disbelief.

Wow. I thought California always had perfect weather.

I hear on the news you are having a lot of fires as well. Terrible.

Here in SW Fl. we were getting away with mid 80's until a few days ago, but high humidity. Now it is still humid but temps are 90's. However the breeze off the Gulf helps it be more tolerable. just don't expect your hair to stay neat! And , as always in the summer, we are watching the tropics for brewing up storms. The water temps are higher than normal and that usually bodes a high # of storms. At least they don't all turn into hurricanes.

I live in Northern California, the Bay Area actually and we do have great weather. We have our spring, summer, fall and winter. It does get cold up here. Its a damp biting cold. We are lucky in summer that we dont have humidity.

@hsawaknow  We are 285 miles Southeast of Vegas, with very similar desert weather.    Yes......we get humidity during the Monsoon months of July, August and September.   It can get brutal.    We don't really have a "fall" season.    It goes from hot to cold, sometimes very suddenly.    The coldest in my area has been 24°, with a hard freeze, and we can get occasional snow flurries.

The metropolitan population is 4.5 million, 5th largest in the U.S.

Thanks for replying. I was thinking of moving there someday and heard of monsoons but didn't know you had a season. Also couldn't deal with a hard freeze or snow flurries. Guess I will stick with California for now.

Yesterday I stayed in and read a good book in the air conditioning.  The opposite of a "snow day", lol.

Friday at 11am it was 118 in Studio City.

Friday at 5:30pm it was 104 in Woodland Hills.

sheesh

Let's give thanks there have been no POWER OUTAGES.   Then we'd all be goners .... yikes.

@hsawaknow

I know a few people who moved from Southern Calif. to Vegas. I could never survive those very HOT months - and I dislike air conditioning. Do people just stay in their homes with the air on - or hang out at the casinos?
