yeah, we were some where close to the ocean on vacation and took a tour of the submarine place. Austin ? been yrs ago I remember all the women had real short hair. Between the un godly humidity and the wind no chance of anything other then a short hair do. I think maybe it was Galveston.
I couldn't draw a good breathe since I have a deviated septum couldn't wait to get back on the a/c tour bus.

We have the same climate here in NOLA @Kachina624. While I'd like 75 degrees year round, I'll take our hot, humid weather over dry cold any day. In dry, cold weather my sinuses start to hurt like crazy. Also I never seem to warm up even when I go inside where it's heated. My son and DIL live in Chicago, and I can only stand to visit them from about May through October. Just can't stand to be outside for ten minutes in the cold!
Everywhere down here is air conditioned big time, and we stay inside this time of year just as people in Minnesota or Wisconsin stay inside during the cold winter months. We're under a heat advisory this week, but that won't really change anything for most of us here. I'll go from my air conditioned house to my air conditioned car to the air conditioned grocery or post office or whatever.
What worries me are the poor and the homeless all over this country who don't have access to adequate cooling. This changing climate will cause untold suffering for the less fortunate.

Yeah, we have a heat advisory this week in N AL. It's so humid it's like walking out into a sauna. Won't be doing any yard work this week. Luckily, I have some appointments to go to so I won't feel guilty about not getting out there.

I can deal with it.....so long as I don't have to shovel snow in the winter (!!!)

Sluggish, lack of motivation, no energy, uncomfortable, fatigue that is what the hot weather is for me, add in humidity and I long for the cool healthy weather. That's me.

We have a birdbath and always keep a big water saucer full for the birds. The birdbath and the water saucer have lots of visitors this week with the triple digit temps. Squirrels have been draining the saucer so I fill it several times a day.

After hearing your stories about temps, I won't complain so much about the humidity in the DC area.
All of those in for a heat wave, stay safe and cool.
