If it hasn’t been said once, it’s been said a zillion times:

Do not use your bank’s debit card at retail.

 

”But I use it as a credit card”...doesn’t matter.

It’s still too close when it’s tied to a checking/savings account. 

 

I create a huge ‘digital moat’ around my checking/savings account.

 

The only time my debit/ATM card leaves my wallet is for

ATM cash/deposit only. Never, ever used at a Point-of-Sale.

I use my debit card for everything. For years.  They can't steal what I don't have!  Debit cards in different states and they certainly do watch.  Credit cards are a whole new world.
