Aren't these devices illegal? My less than one minute search on Google said that camera and WiFi jammers are illegal.

I cancelled my subscription earlier in the year. By the time, you would see someone pop up, they would already be walking away unless you had your phone in your hand. I just found it pretty useless, as a security system.

Thankfully, I never got rid of ADT, so I my security needs are being met.

@icezeus   With Ring I have warning someone is outside with ADT no warning until they're already inside.....

@Nataliesgramma  Both cars must have been unlocked?  Car alarms did not go off?

Kia and Hyundai have a vulnerability in many models that makes them easy to steal. So easy there are Tik Tok challenges to get people to steal them.

Some insurance companies have stopped covering them.

Sorry, but Ring isn't secure, either. You can find reports of Ring being hacked.

@Snowpuppy  Thank you for that info.

I believe I heard that on the news (local & national) a few weeks ago non-stop.  My ears went numb & my eyes glazed over the news when my car manufacturer was not mentioned. Smiley Tongue

Looks like THE CLUB will soon come back in style if not already.

Re: Heads up for those of us with Ring doorbells...

I've used "The Club" or the "Crook Lock," for over 50+ yrs.

The "Crook Lock" locks brake to steering wheel. So kewl too

Each car entrance/exit, I slap it on, in less than 1 second.  It's just a habit, like locking my seat belts. I feel nude without it.

Prior to the above 2 devices, *EVERY CAR I OWNED* had been stolen. grrrr

Since using either these above devices, the most damage has been a broken car window, & popped "car trunk" lock..

So it's not totally "perp proof" but it's a WHOLE LOT BETTER than yr car being stolen!!!  I HIGHLY recommend!

Re: Heads up for those of us with Ring doorbells...

Sometimes it is the settings of the doorbell. I got tired of never catching even regular movement outside (someone walking by for example). It was annoying. I started watching how packages would show up at my door and the man nor the UPS truck was ever in my video list.

I finally changed the record setting down to the shortest duration it has, 15 seconds I think. It never misses anything now but it kills the battery within a week because it is always uploading videos.

I also enabled pre-roll, which monitors while the doorbell is busy processing to the cloud.

It's great now, but I ended up buying a second battery (which are not cheap) so I can just swap them out every week when one dies. They take a long time to charge.

So it might not be someone with some sort of disabling device. It is more likely the doorbell(s) is set to a longer snooze, like 30 or 45 seconds. Took me a while to figure that out.

I want a wired doorbell so I don't have to keep track of the battery.
